The Beatles are landing on iTunes. The same two companies that were for years embroiled in legal disputes over the name Apple, appear to be making a financial truth. Jobs is so excited about the impending deal that he’s willing to cough up tens of millions of dollars for exclusive distribution even if it’s only for a limited period of time.
Not looking too good for Zune, Microsoft’s iPod competitor. The Zune doesn’t seem to be competing with anyone now that it’s ranking at about #23 on Amazon.com’s list of top selling MP3 players.
And lastly, Verizon Wireless has made a deal to distribute company-edited YouTube videos over its $15 a month Vcast service. They claim its an exclusive deal, but just a couple weeks ago Orb Networks announced a software that allows you to pull any video from YouTube to your mobile phone. So much for exclusivity and editors.
