The Webby Awards breaks AVN's "too many categories" barrier

May 1, 2007

The Webby award winners were announced and looking at the list it appears they’ve overtaken the AVN (Adult Video News) awards’ sickness of endlessly adding categories as if that’s the only way to keep people’s interest in the awards.

Still, I am a fan of the Webby awards because it does open my eyes up to some sites I’ve never seen before. Check out the list to be clued into some new sites.

  1. Spark Minutes on the air for the week of 2/9/09
  2. Recreating the "discovery" experience of a paper newspaper with NYTimes' article skimmer
  3. Reprising United Breaks Guitars (and me on Al Jazeera English TV)
  4. Enterprise 2.0 Conf: Stowe Boyd's post everything economy
  5. VIDEO: Web 2.0 Expo 2008: Sam Lawrence breaks his leg from Twittering
