Just out on Engadget’s site. It looks like the Zune is going to get a firmware upgrade to be able to use the built-in wi-fi to actually, get this, CONNECT TO THE INTERNET.
Before, the only use of the wi-fi was to connect to other Zunes. Meaning, the only way you could use the Zune’s wi-fi is if you could actually find another Zune. I’ve never seen one, have you? I’ve had better luck finding Waldo.
This firmware upgrade alone could give cause for people to actually buy a Zune.
- Microsoft and Google’s matching application game. SanDisk and Yahoo!’s Wi-Fi MP3 player.
- Forget the Zune.
- Will you line up for Windows Vista? Beatles on iTunes or anywhere else. Google Switch
- iPod owners are thieves. Ryze purchased by Nokia? Amanda Condon to HBO. CB radio gets violent.
- Apple^2 truce. Zune is #23! Verizon’s YouTube exclusivity?
