I read this post but didn't comment but after getting your happy birthday video message I just had to chime in.

The video message was extremely welcome, one of only two holiday video messages I received and I felt that I had to respond with a video. It also made sure that you were top of mind and prompted me to head over to your blog and check on all the links on your facebook profile.

I totally agree that a personal message around this time is a great way to jog the memory of people you connected with and can only be positive.

Thanks for your message John.

There's so much focus on trying to SCALE personal messages. How can I create a mass mailing that appears to be personal? Who in the history of time has been fooled by this? Do people truly think they're getting a personal letter from Ed McMahon telling them that they MAY have won $10 million?

Instead of focusing how you can scale personal messages, people need to think about how can I truly create personal messages in an efficient manner. I'm truly happy with the response that I got from my personal video ecards. Whether I get business out of it directly doesn't matter. The goodwill it spread strengthens my brand and my relationships.

Personal message is the greatest and it moves people. I love your video message and have learned a lot from this blog. I just built a web site that focus is on marketing with a personal message, but I am destroying the trees. The web site main focus is B2B allowing companies to store electronic digital marketing documents on our servers. And their sales staff can retrieve marketing material that they want to send to a customer. Then write a business letter and we print and package with one or three extraordinary cookies. Greeting & Announcements from individuals have great potential. http://hotcookies.net
