Finally, a reason to buy the iPhone

by David Spark on December 14, 2008

One of the annoying little (or some would say huge) quirks with the iPhone is that developers have to have their applications approved by the almighty Apple. Luckily, one application that was initially rejected for reasons of “limited utility” but has made it through Apple’s arbitrary approval gauntlet is the “Pull My Finger” application which provides a cornucopia of different sounding farts. And for a more fully functioning fart generator that also allows one to set the time of a flatulence bomb, I recommend “iFart.”

A couple of issues need to be addressed. First is that almost all of the iPhone apps have “limited utility.” Singling out a fart creator is simply announcing you don’t like fart jokes, a mainstay in American humor that cuts through generational lines. Whether your 8 or 80, you can appreciate a fart joke, and therefore provide plenty of “utility.” BTW, I would point to “The Family Guy” as providing some of the most ingenious new ways to present the fart joke. Thank you Seth Green.
