Last minute digital gifts
December 20th, 2008
It’s the first night of Hanukkah or Christmas morning and you still haven’t purchased any gifts.
Not to worry, because you can still purchase digital gifts online as everyone’s unwrapping their other gifts. The list below are recommendations for digital gifts that can be purchased immediately and enjoyed. None of the options are gift cards that require the recipient to order something that must be shipped.
Here are a few suggestions:
- iTunes credit – Can be used to purchase music, movies, or TV shows. And now iTunes lets you even rent movies.
- Gamespy – Online gaming community that has tons of games. A founder’s club year’s subscription costs $60.
- XBOX Live Points – These are virtual points that you can gift to someone so they can purchase virtual items in the XBOX Live environment. To purchase you’ll need a Windows Live ID and you’ll need to know your recepient’s Windows Live ID.
- Netflix – The mail order rental DVD store now offers more than 12,000 of its movies available online to its members. And if your gift receiver has a TiVo Series 3 HD or an XBOX 360, they can watch those on demand programs on their TV. Subscriptions cost as little as $5 a month.
- Audible – A digital gift card to download audio books for your recipient’s iPod or MP3 player.
