Will you line up for Windows Vista? Beatles on iTunes or anywhere else. Google Switch
January 18th, 2007
At the end of this month, January 30th, the most delayed operating system ever in history, Windows Vista will finally be available for purchase. And according to the Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg it doesn’t look like people will be lining up the night before to get it. I saw the operating system demo’ed over a year ago and it is an improvement over Windows XP. And while impressive, it doesn’t seem to deliver that significant must-have upgrade as did the releases of Windows 95 and XP. But if you do want to upgrade to Vista, like with any operating system upgrade, you’ll need either a brand new machine, or make some significant hardware improvements.
Rumor is that the Beatles catalog will be available on iTunes come Valentines Day. Until then, you can purchase your Beatles music practically everywhere.
And to add to the rumor mill, Google may have an iPhone killer of its own. The gadget site, Engadget, is reporting that the so-called Google Switch is an iPod sized all-touch-screen buttonless phone that’s being manufactured by Samsung. And unlike the iPhone it will have built in GPS allowing for tighter integration with Google Maps.
- Vista will succeed, but not immediately. And getting on the YouTube payroll.
- Singapore to Wi-Fi. Windows Vista on schedule? More MS Office competitors. Advice to protect your search.
- Will the iPhone move markets the way new operating systems used to?
- This post will be valid for about an hour – Apple, iPods, and The Beatles
- Cell phone lowers sperm count? Buy now, Vista later.
