You link me and I link you

UPDATE: I am no longer participating in this link exchange. Please only favorite my site if you want to favorite my site. I am not offering reciprocal links solely to do a link exchange.

This was an interesting experiment, but I have discovered that I would have to link to hundreds and receive hundreds of reciprocal links in exchange to get even a slight bump in traffic. And what I’ve also noticed is that others have discovered this earlier than me and stopped offering reciprocal links. My apologies to those of you who fav’d me in hopes of a reciprocal link. It’s just it’s not worth my time to participate in this anymore.

ORIGINAL POST:

In the early days of the Internet I would get requests to participate in a link exchange from some kind of Internet directory. I would always say no because the darn Internet directory would have to link me (or it wouldn’t be a directory). I didn’t need to link to them, and these two bit directories (it was never Yahoo! asking for the link exchange) never sent me any traffic.

But now DoshDosh, a great website for information about creating your personal brand online and making money from your website (see previous post “Absorbing blogging advice”), started a link train a couple of months ago specifically to get everyone to “favorite” each other on Technorati. It appears to be very successful. So like getting thrown into a conga line against your will, I’m joining the link train. I’ll let you know if I stay on or decide to jump off.

You can favorite me here.

So here are the sites on my Technorati Favorites Link Train (short now, but will grow…when I’ve got time)
