This week I joined comedian Mike Spiegelman, host of “Hanging with My Tweeps,” for a conversation about hoaxes. Mike and I go way back to the late 90s when I was still doing stand up comedy.
The conversation was around an article I wrote last week, “The Hoax is the New Viral, and it Infuriates Us.” I took the side that it’s just an interesting form of storytelling, and Mike argued that it’s not a story once it’s revealed because the story eventually becomes about the perpetrator of the hoax. For 23 minutes it’s a really good argument. Watch.
